There are many reasons why I love being a pediatrician - the opportunity to care for young babies, work closely with families, help kids and adolescents grow up healthy and happy, and leverage both the clinician and perpetual kid-in-me! As a father, I especially value the trust that parents give me to treat and care for their children in partnership with them. I joined Lamorinda Pediatrics in 2009, and I'm grateful to work with such a caring and competent team of doctors and staff and within a wonderful community.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I grew up with a mom who was a dedicated nurse, had an affinity for math and science, and always loved working with kids. But it was not until college at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), where I majored in Integrative Biology and minored in Education, that I realized that I wanted to be a pediatrician.
After college, I conducted child obesity prevention research at Stanford University and worked in health care consulting. Then I headed to the East Coast to attend Albany Medical College. Four years (and cold winters) later, I happily returned to the sunny Bay Area to complete my pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Oakland. I loved training there and worked in the Adolescent Clinic before joining Lamorinda Pediatrics full-time.
I live in Lafayette with my wife, Tammy Lee, and my two sons, Jacob and Isaac. I love being a part of the community that I work in and seeing my patients at my kids' schools, in youth sports, and around town. In my free time, I enjoy watching and playing sports with my boys, cooking, and catching up on pop culture!
